Community Based Alternatives

The goal of the Community Based Alternatives (CBA) program is to prevent individuals from being admitted into a nursing home prematurely. Through the use of CBA services, eligible individuals may continue to live in their homes and use community benefits and opportunities. CBA might also be appropriate for eligible current nursing home residents that wish to return to their home and community. CBA services include:

  • Adaptive Aids
  • Respite Care
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Medical Supplies
  • Speech Therapy
  • Minor Home Modifications


CBA Eligibilty

Services under this program are paid by Medicaid Funds. Eligibility for CBA is determined by the Department
of Human Services.
